OCS Announces First LIHEAP Block Grant Funding Release for FY 2026

November 28, 2025 - Approximately $3.6 billion of Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 regular block-grant funding has been released to all LIHEAP grantees. This funding release reflects 90 percent of the funds under the Continuing Resolution (CR) Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act 2026 (H.R. 5371), which the President signed into law November 12, 2025. The release also includes 100 percent of the funding available under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), (Public Law 117-58), which have been made available to each LIHEAP grant recipient with an approved FY 2026 model plan.  Due to changes with the LIHEAP funding formula, eight state grant recipients did not receive IIJA funding for FY 2026. Tables detailing current allocation amounts are available for state/territory and tribal grant recipients.

Grant recipients may also access their Notice of Award (NOA) for both the CR and the IIJA funding through the Grant Solutions Grants Management Services (GMM) module.
